Well, hello there, Blog-fans! The Bloggin' family blogs have slown quite a bit. I guess sometimes life just gets busy and other things take priority (as they often should). There hasn't been too much to relay here. Actually, I probably have a few stories. But, instead, I'll tell you about the books I'm reading right now. (Maybe that's inspired by Dave's recent blog.)
Angel's & Demons, by Dan Brown (author of the Da Vinci Code) - I don't know that I was extremely excited about reading this, but I had two people recommend it (Randy, who I work with, and Melody, a dear friend of mine from church). And, I had read the Da Vinci Code, so I was curious as to the contents of this book. I'm probably 1/3 of the way through it, so I can't make a call yet.
Too Busy Not to Pray, by Bill Hybels - a far, far, far cry from the first book. :) Actually, this will be the third time I've read this book, which is highly unusual for me. I don't know that I've ever even read a book twice. The funny thing is, I didn't really set out to read it three times. I read it once and learned a lot from it. Then, I lead our Sunday School class through it. Now, our church as a whole (and thus our SS class) is studying it. Fortunately there's been a bit of a lapse since the last reading, but not quite enough (maybe 2 yrs). I'm four chapters in this go 'round.
Creating Community: 5 Keys to Building a Small Group Culture, by Andy Stanley and Bill Willits - this is actually assigned reading. On Wednesday night, I was up at the church, and our young adult minister stuck it in my hands and said, "I'd like for you to read this in the next 3 or 4 weeks and give me a report." So... I guess that makes this one "homework."
The Secret Lives of Bees, by Sue Kidd - This is what I'm SUPPOSED to be reading. This is the current book being read by my Book Club group. Fortunately it's a short read, so hopefully I can fly through it. Main problem right now is... I haven't even bought the book yet. Knowing me, I'll buy it when I get the email setting the date for the next Book Club meeting!! :)
So... I'd like to write more, but I REALLY MUST GET READING!!!!

I can think of one other book you have read repeatedly, and recommended to me ... "Lady In Waiting". I loved it and have recommended it to several other women, and know several college groups did it as a Bible Study as a result. Thanks for the good suggestion! It is still something I reference in life and ministry! Enjoy your reading, and I'll be anxious to know about the secret lives of bees ... I didn't know they had a secret life! Thanks for your prayers!
