The Bug

The little blue bug, with its Charlie Chaplin eyebrows,
sputters playfully through the city street.
He seems happy and content to carry his cargo.
He's not bothered by the bits of rust creeping in at his seems
but fweems gleefully with each kind touch and meaningful observation.
He is quite aware of the playful jabs that are exchanged in his presence.
But that is his gift - the gift of laughter, smiles... amusement.

Fweems? This is what dictionary.com has to say about it: "No entry found for fweems." What is fweems?

From Krista's Lexicon: Fweem (v.) - to make a sputtering sound characteristic of a Volkswagon Bettle driving down the street. Literary device: onomatopoeia.

Yes, I DID write that... and entered it in a poetry writing contest, too. (You should be able to find a printed copy of it in the Tulsa City-County Library.) I didn't win any prizes (that I know of). My research consisted of hanging out w/ Tim - riding in his VW and attending a VW rally with him one time. I used to hate VW Bugs, but as you can see, I've rather gained quite a fondness for them.
