The lies we tell...

A personally-entertaining quote from my current read ("The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde)

[After the main character reveals (lies) to her mother that she has a new boyfriend...]

"This, to my mother, was extremely good news. It had been of considerable anguish to her that I wasn't spending more time with swollen ankles, hemorrhoids and a bad back, popping out grandchildren and naming them after obscure relatives... In all honesty I wasn't against the idea of kids, it was just that I wasn't going to have them on my own."

Touché! :)

It doesn't always cause bad back problems! Okay, so it has both times I've experienced it, but ...

How is that book? Would you recommend it? I'm looking to start reading something for me, that is fun, and that I would enjoy.
